  • STAUFF Oil Condition Sensor (OCS) Monitors Engine Oil Condition

WALDWICK, NJ — Interval oil changes are now a thing of the past thanks to the new STAUFF Oil Condition Sensor (OCS).

Because the OCS from STAUFF monitors oil condition – contamination and moisture – oil can be changed based on need rather than a set interval. This alone can lead to the savings of millions of gallons of oil a year.

Monitoring oil condition is clearly fundamental to understanding the optimal time to change.

    • Change too early and the cost is too high!
    • Change too late and the costs can be even greater!

The STAUFF OCS sensor is a live, highly flexible and cost effective condition based monitoring solution, designed to be permanently mounted within any lubrication system on any type of machine.

The STAUFF OCS Oil Condition Sensor reliably measures contamination in all industrial equipment, including:

    • Diesel and gas engines
    • Compressors
    • Industrial gear reducers
    • Wind turbines
    • Generator sets
    • Hydraulic systems

Data can be displayed on your existing system or on the STAUFF Oil Condition Display (OCD).

  • STAUFF Introduces ACT Anti Corrosion Technology Clamp for Offshore Applications
Anti Corrosion Technology Clamp - Offshore Applications

WALDWICK, NJ — ACT Clamps from STAUFF protect against crevice corrosion in salt water and other corrosive environments. Designed for use with stainless steel tube and pipe, ACT clamps from STAUFF can be used for both underwater and top-side applications.

Crevice corrosion is a problem when seawater is trapped in gaps between conventional clamps and the pipe or tube.

STAUFF ACT Clamps utilize anti-corrosion elastomer strips to firmly hold the tube while eliminating gaps seawater can penetrate. Integrated drainage channels allow seawater to flow freely, eliminating stagnant pools that can cause corrosion.

The stainless steel mounting hardware and corrosion-proof clamp body made of flame-retardant PPV0 plastic material complete the design. The clamp body provides UV stability and is resistant against seawater, rain and oil. The mounting hardware is made of Stainless Steel V4A (Material Code: W55) with enhanced corrosion resistance.

STAUFF ACT clamps have been extensively field-tested in the Dutch North Sea and have been independently tested and approved.

Suitable for continuous exposure to temperatures from -13°F to +194°F (from -25°C to +90°C), STAUFF ACT clamps are available in most commonly used pipe diameters from 1/4 inch to 1 inch (6 mm to 25.4 mm).

STAUFF ACT clamps are easy to install and provide mid- and long-term cost savings through reduced maintenance requirements.

  • STAUFF Desiccant Breathers Help Prevent Gear Drive Corrosion
    Desiccant Breather

WALDWICK, NJ — STAUFF SDB Gearbox Desiccant Breathers remove corrosive moisture and hazardous vapors.

When air flows through a gearbox breather, it can introduce moisture into the system. Temperature fluctuations cause the water in the air to condense, which can cause corrosion on the drive gears and oxidize the oil. This can eventually leads to serious damage of system components and cause expensive downtime.

With STAUFF SDB desiccant breathers, air first passes through a drying agent of non-toxic gel to remove moisture and then through a replaceable air filter element with a micron rating of 3 μm to remove particulate matter.

As moisture is absorbed, the drying agent will gradually change from red to orange. When it is orange, replace the drying agent.

With an optional spring-loaded check valve, the drying agent will be isolated from the atmosphere unless inhaling or exhaling, which increases the lifetime of the Desiccant Air Breather SDB-CV as well.

The highly absorbent activated carbon material in the desiccant breather traps any hazardous oil vapors.

  • STAUFF Hydraulic Tester Simulates Operating Conditions
    Flow Indicator

WALDWICK, NJ — The SDMKR reversible flow device developed by STAUFF is for the rapid and accurate monitoring of hydraulic components and systems.

The design allows the simultaneous measurement of the three parameters: flow, pressure, and temperature, allowing maintenance personnel to determine the performance of pumps, motors, valves, or cylinders, as well as of complete systems.

The portable flow devices are integrated in the hydraulic circuit only for the duration of the system test. They are equipped with BSP connection threads on the input and output, and can be installed in both pressure and return lines.

The testers include a flowmeter with a visual display and a built-in thermometer, as well as a loading valve. The loading valve makes it possible to safely increase the working pressure gradually and continuously up to 420 bar (6 ksi) to provide a realistic simulation of normal machine operation.

Two integrated burst discs act as an internal safety mechanism, effectively protecting the device against accidental over-pressure. When the maximum pressure in the hydraulic system is exceeded, the discs break and the oil is transported through a bypass.
